European Social Fund Division is based within the Department for Work and Pensions. The Division is responsible for ensuring that European Social Fund money is used to support and add value to national employment and skills priorities, in line with EU regulations.

The Division provides policy advice on European Social Fund issues across the UK. It works in partnership with the European Commission and key national players to administer the Objective 3 Community Support Framework and EQUAL programmes across Great Britain. It also manages the Objective 3 programme in England in partnership with regional Government Offices.
