Co-financing Organisations in Cornwall receive ESF plaques

On 28 March, Government Office South West Regional Director (and ESF Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) Chair), Jon Bright, presented ESF plaques to representatives from the Department for Work and Pensions and Learning and Skills Council. The plaques highlight their role in co-financing ESF in the new programme. The plaques were received by Carolyn Webster, European Programme and Funding Manager for Jobcentre Plus in Cornwall, and Rob Corfield, the LSC’s Partnership Director for Cornwall.

The LSC and DWP have been awarded an initial allocation of £47 and £16 million respectively to deliver ESF activity during 2008-2010. Over the coming months both organisations will be confirming major contracts for the delivery of training packages to help people into work and to increase the skills of those already in work. The ESF PMC also approved the framework for the delivery of Higher Education and higher level skills within the Convergence ESF programme. A tender for the graduate placement element has already been published.
