Adult Learners’ Week 2008
As in previous years, ALW provided excellent opportunities to publicise the ESF programme. For example:
- the ESF logo and supporting information on the programme featured prominently on a wide range of national and regional publicity materials including press releases, posters, booklets, articles in national and regional newspapers, on promotional items etc
- national and regional ESF (and other) award winners received their awards at events, and their stories were featured by the media through press articles, plus some more generic coverage on TV and radio.
The ESF Managing Authority worked closely with NIACE on all aspects of ALW, in particular how ESF support could be promoted most effectively. A highlight was the national launch ceremony on 19 May at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London, where awards were presented to the national ESF winners.
At a regional level, Government Office ESF teams and ESF Co-financing Organisations worked closely with NIACE on the selection of ESF award winners, the organisation of regional awards events and publicising the winners stories.
